Example sentences

Grammar note

“Krank” is a regular predicate adjective: “ich bin krank”. Its opposite is “gesund” (healthy). The noun for illness, “die Krankheit”, shares the same root.

Common mistake

Don't confuse “krank” with “Krankenhaus” (hospital, literally “sick-house”) when you just mean the adjective “sick” — “krank” alone is the word you want.
