Grammar note
“Weiß” stays unchanged after “ist” and takes an ending before a noun: “ein weißes Hemd”. It also means “I know” (from “wissen”): “Ich weiß” is a separate use.
Common mistake
Write “weiß” with ß, not “weiss”. The ß is correct after a long vowel or diphthong, like “ei”.
