Formal or informal? “Jahr” is the word for year. For a whole year you can also say “ein ganzes Jahr”.

Grammar note
“Das Jahr” is neuter, so it takes “das” and “ein”. The plural is “die Jahre”. After a number the plural stays: “drei Jahre”, “dreißig Jahre”.
Common mistake
Don't use the singular after a number. Say “zwei Jahre” and “dreißig Jahre”, not “zwei Jahr”.
